David Leonard began playing the guitar at the age of ten.  In his childhood he studied primarily rock and jazz.  At the age of eighteen, he studied classical guitar for a year considering it as a career.  He later decided against it so he could peruse a wider variety of music.  Currently, most of his time is devoted to acoustic finger-style guitar playing. A style which is primarily influenced by guitarists Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel.

Although his live performances currently consist of only his acoustic material, David spends a large amount of time composing and experimenting with the electric guitar.  His interest in a wide range of music and guitar styles is represented in his playing.  He brings a different perspective to the acoustic guitar, and has a large repertoire of original material that reflects several different genres.

At the moment, David is a registered nurse in Colorado.  However, he is constantly composing, practicing, and tries to keep his schedule as full as possible with live performances.  In March of 2011, he released his first CD of 13 original acoustic instrumentals.  In the future, he hopes to find the time to work with other musicians to develop his electric material.  Music is an integral part of David’s life, and he is constantly working to create and share music with other people.
